Critical Care Unit Veterinary Technician
The Colorado State University Critical Care Unit (CCU) provides 24-hour intensive nursing care to patients who are admitted for inpatient treatment. Challenge yourself and join the team at the James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital in beautiful Fort Collins Colorado to provide high quality, innovative and state of the art medicine. We support our nurses to be an integral part of the medical team while performing tasks such as triage and patient admission, administering treatments and medications, communicating with clinicians surrounding patient concerns, performing advanced technical procedures, and providing exceptional patient care and customer service. A positive and hardworking attitude is a must. We are dedicated to training nurses at all levels to provide gold standard care. CCU manages complex cases such as ventilator, dialysis and cardio bypass patients. Applicants can anticipate being trained to perform advanced technical skills such as placing multi-lumen IV catheters, urinary catheters, arterial lines and feeding tubes. CCU is a fast-paced environment where excellent communication and teamwork are vital. Applicants should be equally excited to receive extensive training as well as teach skills they have mastered. We are a Level I VECCS certified facility, and an ACVECC Veterinary Trauma Center. Applicants must be willing to have some flexibility with shift work and some holidays.
