EQUINE CVT/Surgery Technician/Vet Tech/Vet Assistant/CSR

As the Countryside Large Animal Veterinary team continues to grow, we are looking for veterinary technicians with a variety of experience to join our team.  Be a part of northern Colorado’s premier veterinary practice and referral surgical facility. Candidates should understand that patient care is only part of their role and should see the value in building relationships with clients by giving them peace of mind in leaving their animals in our care. LARGE ANIMAL EXPERIENCE IS A MUST – professional or personal, tell us about your experience!

3 full-time positions:

·        Surgical Technician - CVT or experienced tech with equine anesthesia experience

·        General Tech - recent grad with minimal experience to experienced – pay DOE

·        Hospital Tech/Admin - technician/veterinary assistant requires some experience

·        Night & Seasonal positions coming soon – PT/FT ideal for all degrees of students - tech students, vet students, pre-vet and undergrad students.

 

SKILLS:

Digital Radiology

Catheter placement, venipuncture, blood draws

Collect lab samples and evaluate or prep for reference lab submittal (chem, cbc, fecal, etc.)

Accurately calculate medication dosage, fill prescriptions as directed by veterinarian

Proper Animal restraint – including foals/horses, small ruminants, cattle chute operation

Assist in wellness procedures such as vaccination, dental floats, lameness exam, rehab treatments, etc.

Surgical preparation, joint injection site prep, TPR, administer medications, bandage changes

Anesthesia induction, monitoring and recovery

Hospital and exam area cleaning, stocking of supplies, equipment maintenance

Reception and administrative duties, maintain patient records & billing entry

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates absolutely must have horse experience, and livestock handling is strongly preferred. This may come from a lifetime of riding, showing or working around horses and/or livestock or strictly work experience or combination. Great Horsemanship skills, a friendly manner and professional etiquette set you up for success!
