Veterinary Technician (Animal Shelter)

Loveland, CO

Our Veterinary Technicians (Credentialed/Registered/Provisional) provide clinical and administrative support for the Veterinary Services Department. Schedules are full time (40 hours per week) and include a weekend shift. Emergency hours may be implemented during emergency situations. Overtime will be required as needed. Some holiday, evening and weekend work required as needed. Flexibility is preferred. Duties include assisting with the surgical program including induction and intubation of surgery patients; monitory of patients from induction through recovery; performing dental prophy and radiographs; preparing and interpreting basic diagnostic tests; performing euthanasia as assigned; supervising and assisting with basic training of veterinary students, veterinary technician students and department volunteers and more.  Requirements and qualifications include direct animal care and handling experience; 21 years of age or older for insurance purposes; proficiency with intubation, IV catheter placement and IV injection techniques; strong verbal and written communication skills; proven emotional intelligence, integrity and work ethic skills and more.

NOTE: Certification/Registration with the State of Colorado is a requirement for this job. If you are a non-credentialed candidate and are in the process of becoming credentialed, you are eligible to apply and continue working towards registration. $19.00 to $22.00 per hour
