Veterinary Technician Supervisor

Englewood, CO

Job Summary:

The Veterinary Technician Supervisor oversees all Veterinary Technician staff at the practice by providing clinical guidance, staffing overview, and training. They possess advanced Veterinary Technician skills, duties and knowledge base, plus additional clinical and communication expertise with, with the focus of advancing their skills and knowledge base. The Veterinary Technician supervisor serves as a part of the leadership team and builds on the nursing operations team and efficiently directs workflow while performing Veterinary Technician duties. The Veterinary Technician Supervisor collaborates with the veterinary medical healthcare team to deliver optimum patient care and excellent client experience.


Responsibilities:

Leading with Your Head

Understanding business, solving problems, and making decisions through inclusive contributions of others

· Collaborate with the Practice Manager and Medical Director to support the operational needs.

· Communicate and ensure effective training on policy and protocol with a focus on maintaining

high standards of care in the hospital while optimizing workflow.

· Ensure the technician staff can provide the most effective care by leading by example.

· Provide guidance to technician staff by communicating clear, effective and timely communication.

· Lead in a manner that promotes strong employee satisfaction and retention.

· Ensure appropriate standards of patient care and client service are maintained.

Leading with Your Heart

Interpersonal aspect of leading with Emotional Intelligence (EQ), effective use of influence, working

together constructively and creatively

· Expressing empathy while resolving routine personnel issues and problems while providing

guidance in resolving conflict.

Leading With Your Hands:

· Collaborate with the Practice Manager and Medical Director to ensure the highest standards of medical care and foster a collaborative, professional environment within the hospital.

· Organize and attend monthly technician/assistant meetings and overseeing technician scheduling.

· Guide newly hired technicians and assistants through an effective onboarding and transition to the new clinic and team.

· Provide and exemplify excellent client care

· Develop goals, objectives and deadlines for the team and clearly communicate to the team to ensure others know their roles.

· Represent the veterinary medical support team on the leadership team.

Key Qualifications:

· Prior experience as a veterinary technician in general practice and surgery for at least 3 years

· Credentialed Veterinary Technician

· Proven leadership and communication skills. Supervisory experience preferred

· Be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communication skills.

· Availability to work all shifts, including nights and weekends.

· Statisfy state and national credentialing requirements as needed.

· Ability to meet essential job function attributes including:

- Ability to routinely lift 40+ pounds;>50 pounds with assistance

- Frequent/extended standing, kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching

- Exposure to all types of hazard situations. Chemicals including anesthetic and sterilant gases,

infectious disease, potentially irritant cleaning solutions and potentially aggressive animals.


$26-29 per Hour
